Don Ruben's Mexican Grill

Seriously one of the best Mexican food joints around. The OG Green Burrito. I love the wet green burrito full of carnitas, rice, and beans topped with green sauce and chips. It fills the whole container for just $9.99! I can get 2-3 meals out of 1 order! The tacos and breakfast burritos are solid, too. I've never had anything bad here. You can call orders in, but they don't always pick up, especially when things are busy. There's only a handful of outdoor benches, but there's usually plenty of space as most people take their food to go. Service is always friendly. I love how simple but good this place is. A forever favorite for me at this point.

Man, I love how whenever I want a breakfast burrito, this place is always open and the quality simply has not gone down after all these years. Yes, the prices have gone up since the pandemic (from 6$ to 8$ for the Special Burrito) but what always keeps me coming back is the quality. I can't say I've ever gotten tired of having the food here, it tastes good whenever I've had it and the portions have always been fair! I will keep coming to eat here as long as it's open to be honest. The quick and friendly service is also a massive plus. I've never had issues with my food, even though sometimes there can be a bit of a wait, the wait is most definitely worth it. Please never change Don Ruben's, we need more businesses like you.

I accidentally ordered the super soft taco instead of the regular soft taco, . Overall, the taco was good. Great flavor. But it comes in a flour tortilla. It also has lettuce . Thats a no no for me. Anyway, next time i know to order the regular soft taco. ‍

I was in the area, and Don Ruben's came up with high recommendations. It's a small establishment but keeps fairly busy. I decided to go with the Big Ed. "Big" is just a tease. In reality, this burrito is massive! You will definitely need a plate, fork, and knife. And be sure to bring you appetite

The best breakfast burritos around. Would love to come every week but that would be against dr's orders. Mixed burritos served by friendly staff are a must try if you're in the Artesia, Norwalk, HG area. Scarce parking available especially when florist and Don Ruben are busy.

A little shack kitchen with some outdoor seating but definitely takeout oriented. Service is quick and the place is pretty busy for a Monday morning. Bean and Cheese burrito - an actual hulking mass of bean and cheese loaded securely into a flour tortilla. The beans are on point! Not sure how much lard is in here, but it's enough. Perfect ratio of melted and unmelted cheese as well. Bacon and Egg Burrito - an interesting breakfast burrito I've never had before, where the eggs are fried thin until a little crispy on the edges. This breakfast burrito has no potatoes inside, but features more refried beans, and a heaping portion of crispy bacon. A unique and also quite delicious experience! Salsa is a little watered down. Personally, I'd go with red instead of green.

Great spot for cheap GOOOOD Mexican food. We get burritos here weekly, their beans are great here! Service is fast and friendly. They have a small patio to eat on. It's located on the corner and has a small area for parking. We have tried many items and have been happy with them all. This time I switched it up and got Shredded beef nachos. They were good. HUGE PORTION definitely share size.

BEST SPOT EVER! Everything is on point here. Workers greet you with the friendliest smile. Food is cooked to order. Never cold, never bland like other places. The Ambiance here is so chill and welcoming. With outside dinning. Highly recommend this spot to anyone! You can not go wrong

Parking is very limited. They only have about 3 outdoor seatings and no indoor seatings. I ordered the Mix Burrito and it was a nice size and pretty filling. The burrito was really good and packed with flavors. They do provide a sauce, but I didn't really use it as much since the burrito was not dry and already full of flavor. They also do have a bathroom, you'll have to ask for the key, but just keep in mind, that it's not a clean bathroom.
